While everyone has a pair of eyes, we find that few uses them to their advantage. While some are casual, others are more methodical in using them. Giving and receiving eye contact while talking is an authentic sign of a good conversation.
Some of the common ways how people use :
1. Avoidance: Talking to someone while looking at some other person or object
2. Disengage: Constant graze at other things while speaking to someone
3. Engage: Look into the eyes of the person you are speaking to

Recognize the fact that eye contact is a type of body language that is extremely important during communication to build trust, rapport, confidence and respect. When eye contact is made, it often signals control or power over a situation and establishes dominance.
Practicing good eye contact is an essential art of effective communication, but many people underestimate its ability to make a difference in business, social life and beyond. Maintaining eye contact with someone you are talking to indicates interest and relays the message to them that they are important, and you are actively listening to them.
